Fall 2024 Program Updates!
Hello, and happy fall from Wolf Tree!
All around us, the leaves are are turning colors in waves of autumnal beauty, and the bees and other flying beings are slowing their wings. As the animals settle into their autumn routines, so do we in our school year programs. Read on to hear some of the fun things we've been up to, to see some beautiful pictures from our times together in the woods, and to hear about three wonderful new staff members!
School Year Programs Begin
Since the beginning of September, five of our core youth programs - from after school to homeschool to weekend programs - have gotten well underway. And, what fun we've had celebrating the season! There have been apple feasts, chestnut and pear and persimmon and flower harvests, fire and cooking challenges, and endless big games across forests and fields. Rivers, our weekend teen program, has had two overnights already, and Red Foxes just had their big fall overnight this past weekend!

Welcoming New Staff!

This year, we have gained three new amazing staff to the Wolf Tree team!
We are so grateful to welcome a long-time Red Foxes CIT and participant, Bryn Appel, into her first year as a full staff member at Red Foxes. This summer, Bryn began her Wolf Tree staff journey as an assistant counselor at our summer camp, and absolutely knocked it out of the park. We are thrilled to have her step into this new role at Red Foxes!
Roots, our Wednesday homeschool program, has gained Luna Johnson, a wonderful and experienced team member. Luna comes to us from Harrisville, New Hampshire and has been working with children for over 15 years. She has taught in various classroom and outdoor settings, sewing together academic learning with emergent outdoor experiences. We are so lucky to have Luna on board!
At Rivers, our weekend teen program, we are thrilled to welcome Phoebe Martel. Phoebe brings both many years of experience and enthusiasm to her work, having participated in and mentored numerous youth programs throughout her life, including at Wolf Tree camps! This year, Phoebe is teaching science at a Waldorf school in addition to rocking her new role at Rivers. We are so grateful to welcome Phoebe!
Welcome Bryn, Luna, and Phoebe!
We hope you are all getting out there and enjoying the beauty of the season.
Onwards and upwards,
- The Wolf Tree Team
