Woodland Ways is a nature immersion program for adults, meeting on select Fridays throughout the year. This year-long apprenticeship focuses on creating and maintaining deep nature connection routines throughout the seasons. Through these connections we develop a stronger relationship with nature, our community and ourselves. This apprenticeship combines naturalist knowledge, wildlife tracking, and ancestral skills. We will cover a variety of skills and topics including tree and plant identification, tracking and trailing, fire making, basketry, rope making, bird language, stone and bone tools, and much more.
This is a physically rigorous programs that includes long hikes, getting wet & dirty and maneuvering through a variety of terrains.
Important notes:
This program involves being outside in the elements in all seasons and can be physically challenging.
Although the program meets at Brook's Bend Farm we will be travelling to a variety of locations in the pioneer valley (up to 20 minutes away). You may need to use your personal vehicle for transportation to and from field trip sites.
