Program Age Ranges

  • For programs that run during the school year (Sept-May), the age is determined as of December 31st of the starting year of the program. If your child is within the age range as of Dec. 31st, they are eligible for the program.

For camps, including summer & vacation camps, the age is determined as of September 1st of that year. If your child is within the age range as of Sept. 1st, they are eligible for the program.

For adult programs that are listed as 18+, you must be 18 year old at the time the program begins.

  • No, we do not make exceptions to the age ranges.

We set the age ranges for specific reasons that affect group dynamics and the focus of the program. We work with certain age ranges together that allow us to optimize our style and approach to meet the needs of the program participants. Although mixed-age interaction is valuable, in the small group sizes that we work with, our staff would not have adequate time or focus to meet the needs of all participants.

  • If a participant is mildly ill and does not need medical treatment, they will be brought to the designated medical station located in the nearest facility. The participant will be allowed time to rest and staff will contact their parents/guardians. If the participant is not feeling better after a half hour or so, parents may pick the participant up early from camp after the Director is notified.

Parents/ Guardians who’s children need to take medications during camping hours will need to fill out a prescription medications form provided by Wolf Tree Programs. Parents/ Guardians shall provide the program with appropriate written authorization and the medication before any medications are administered. Medications must be in the original container and labeled with the child's name, name of medication, directions for medication’s administration and date of the prescription. Participants will be administered the medication only by the camp healthcare supervisor. All medications will be kept in a lock box at all times. All unused medication will be destroyed if not picked up within one week following the camper’s departure at the end of camp. Only parents/ guardians of the participant taking the medication can drop it off and pick it up from the Director of Wolf Tree Programs.

Financial Questions

  • School Year and Adult Programs: All program deposits are non-refundable. These cover the space we reserve for you or your child in the program, as well as the administrative work involved. If you cancel before a program begins, we will refund any tuition paid beyond the deposit.

If you decide to cancel after the program has started, you are responsible for full payment of tuition. We budget each program based on attendance and commit pay to staff, overhead and office work based on our numbers. When people cancel, we need to be able to keep those commitments. If we are able to find a replacement for the cancellation, we will refund the portion of the program tuition that is unused, but we cannot guarantee this will happen.

Summer Camp: For a cancellation of a session that happens more than 30 days before the first day of that session, tuition is refundable minus $100. For a cancellation of a session that happens 15-30 days before the first day of that session, tuition is refundable minus $150. Tuition for a session canceled 14 days or less before the first day of that session, or during the session, is non-refundable. Exceptions to this policy are possible in the case of doctor-verified health emergencies. We budget each program based on attendance and commit pay to staff, overhead, and administrative work based on our enrollment numbers. When people cancel, we need to be able to keep those commitments.

  • If a payment is 2 weeks or more late, we reserve the right to cancel your registration without refund.

  • We accept payments via check or online via echeck (preferred) or credit card.

Program Staff and Program Notes

  • Our staff have gone through extensive training, background checks and interviews in order to lead programs. We know that each staff member is a reflection of Wolf Tree and work to ensure that we offer a consistently safe, fun and engaging environment, while also drawing on the unique strengths of each of our staff. Check out our staff page to learn more about these amazing individuals.

  • We will do our best to accommodate requests about a late drop-off or early-pick up, but cannot guarantee we will be able to do so. Generally, it depends on the program and staff whether it is possible to have the group accommodate an individual request.

We are often wandering in the woods, a distance from drop-off/pick-up spots, so it's not always easy to facilitate bringing a child back to the meeting point.

We need notice in writing to be able to accommodate the request, so please get in touch early.

For summer camp, this may affect which group your child is placed in.

  • All programs require participants to have a basic fitness level that allows them to carry their backpack with them while wandering in the woods and engaging in physical tasks such as running, climbing and generally moving throughout the day.

Program activity depends on the age level, interests and weather each day. Younger aged programs won't be wandering as far, but still involve moderate physical activity and the ability to carry a backpack with food and personal gear. Older aged programs may involve significant hikes while carrying personal gear.

If you have a concern about whether our programs are a fit for you or your child, please contact us to discuss.

  • The physical and emotional safety of our staff and the community remain our top priority in responding to COVID-19. We follow state guidelines for COVID protocols. These may change over time, please check back in regularly.
